Return of the King (or at least the little Prince)

Adam came to NorCal for a quick visit last weekend. It's awesome to spend time together at home. We played frisbee at Forest Lake at twilight, enjoyed Ghirardelli brownies, ate Adam's German pancakes, looked at homes in Nevada City and Grass Valley, ate at Tofanelli's, rode quads around the property, drove tractors at Dad's, ate blackberry pie from Machados, and had a mini Father's Day breakfast.
I couldn't resist Adam's request. I am so glad I didn't. It was a fabulous 36 hours.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Kristine and I both had the day off on Thursday to enjoy at our leisure. We went along Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay and stopped along our way south. First off was Pescadero. We enjoyed the famous Arcangeli Grocery's artichoke garlic herb bread. (Fun side note: It's still a family business.Young Mitch at the register is the great grandson of the original Arcangeli.)
The bread lived up to the hype. It was awesome.

It was a little piece of paradise to sit on a picnic bench in the green backyard with the sun on our backs - eating our warm delicious bread.

Next we got some Olallieberry pie to go from Duarte's. (Which is also a bit famous.)

Our final stop in Pescadero was Harley Farms Goat Dairy. It was charming and picturesque. Dee was a friendly host. The goat cheeses were readily available to sample. The cheese rounds were decorated with wildflowers. It seemed a shame to ruin the beauty to eat one.

Pigeon Point lighthouse has always been a favorite stop of mine. The weather was bright and clear. It was the perfect place to enjoy our Olallieberry pie.

Finally, we picked sun-ripened strawberries at Swanton. It couldn't have been a better day.

Drop in visitor

I love that I have the freedom to have a drop in visit with my sisters. I spent 24 hours in Utah visiting Laura and Lissy . It was a sisters night on Friday. Both husbands were out of town, and even Noah was gone too. (I guess that makes it a girls night.) It was awesome. We don't need to really do anything, but doing nothing is still fun when we're together. Nothing is as easy or as fun as being with my sisters. It was such a great experience, I cannot wait until the boys are away again.
