There is too much for me to say about my fabulous 16 day France vacation. I won't even try to give detailed itinerary information. We went north to Normandy and the D-Day beaches (which I'll blog about next time.) Then to the Loire river valley and the chateaux of the area. Next, we stayed in the Dordogne River region. Finally, we drove to Provence. We traveled 3,900 km through mountains, valleys, villages, and cities.
Please check out Kristine's blog for a more detailed account of our trip. She has three or four entries that are really interesting.

I was overwhelmed by the glory of nature. I have never experienced such brightness in light and color.
We pulled over from driving to take a few pictures on a couple of occasions. Amazingly, we never ceased to be awestruck. Whether we were in a quaint village or the sprawling grounds of a chateau, we appreciated everything.
Here are some snapshots with the girls. These actually are in reverse chronological order. Veronica was there for the first four days and Julia for the remaining nine.

One day in Avignon, the mistral (HEAVY) wind blew forcefully enough that Kristine and I wrapped our wraps around our waists:
Please forgive me for not sharing details. I just wanted to make sure that I posted quickly. It was an unforgettable trip

What fantastic shots. You took beautiful pictures of such beautiful places. I would love to have been there with you. I'm sure you made that trip wonderful and enjoyable for everyone else on the trip. You always make everything more fun when you are a part of it!!
The pictures are truly affecting, they are so beautiful.
When you think about spending over two weeks searching out the natural and man-made beauties of France, cruising on less traveled byways, walking paths of history as well as personal discovery - it doesn't sound like a risk. (like Morocco?)
But it still required your strong sense of adventure on a couple levels, not to mention 3800 kms of driving. :) Very nice
Lovely! I'm always trying to get Edward to go to France - but you know how the Brits feel about the place! Paris is about all he'll do. Which region is your fav?
