Lissy and Mark came to California for a few days. We hit our favorite spots in the Bay Area (Santa Cruz and San Francisco) before heading home to the Gold Country.
The Boardwalk (with the smoke from the Lockheed fire on the horizon.)
The girls at Pigeon Point light house:
Mom came (by train!) to join us in the city and we did all the old things we use to do as kids. (Coit tower, Lombard Street, Chinatown, steamed whole crab from Fisherman's Grotto to picnic with, Palace of Fine Arts) Mark was a good sport as we each acted like an expert and told him everything we knew about the city and it's history. It is pretty great. I think we're justified in bragging. :)
The Nevada County fair holds some of my favorite childhood memories. Although I have moved on from the carnival rides, I am still in love with the fried zucchini, the local bluegrass music, the livestock, and (most of all) the setting of majestic pine trees.
It was great to go with Dad and Mom. It had been years. Aren't they so cute?
