There's no place like home

Fun postcard for Broad St

Again it's December 18, 2008

This place doesn't seem to change much, and that just the way I like it. It's California's Gold Country. I am proud to know and care about the history of Nevada City and Grass Valley. My favorite way to spend a day is eating a pasty while strolling along Broad, Main, and Mill Streets. I am happy to report that my Christmas holiday included this ( and much more.) My mother was born and raised here, as was I. I hope I can keep the magic of G.V. & N.C. alive for the generations to come.

Hey Beck! I couldn't agree with you more, there is "no place like home." Getting a pasty is always on my "must do list" when I go home. Your pix put a smile on my lips and the warm fuzzies in my heart. Even though I haven't lived there for (yikes) 30+ years, Nevada County will always be HOME. Luv ya!

Well done beck. It may be up to you to carry the torch for the next generation. My conviencing hasn't gotten far with Josh to move back.

These are so great! I love that all the power lines have magically gone in the new pictures! I want to try a pasty in California! I've only tried them out here. My husband's family is part Cornish so we get the real deal but I'm sure the Americanized version is scrummy - just like American pizza or American Mexican!

Great pictures. I haven't been in GV/NC for years.

AHHHHHHH! I just love our "home"! We took the kids to the Gold Mine and then got the traditional pasty! I couldn't believe all the new flavors they have now. We went for the good old trusty beef! LOVE IT! It was so great to see you and your amazing family. I love the Sanders Christmas Eve Concert! You guys are the best and I love you all!
