A Real Discovery to Download

Listen to a song.

I am constantly buying new music and looking for unknown (to me and the general public) artists.I usually then share my finds with a few friends. My latest favorite group is Adam and Darcie. I know that I'm a bit biased because Adam is my brother and Darcie is my sister-in-law, but they are really talented. I like them as much, if not more than, most of the other music I buy. So I am sharing my find. Their second album California Trail is awesome. It's pretty chill yet really beautiful. I just want more people to hear them.
Here's some info and links:

Someone in Ireland heard their album, LOVED it, and wanted to release it over there. Pretty cool. Here's an interview from over there

A Bit of Broadway, a little Beach, and rockin' Band

Tara was in town for a couple of days, so we had a jam packed weekend. Tara always makes things a bit more fun. She loves to be active, but she's also okay chillin' at home. It was an adventure for the few days we had together.

Saturday: Ann's for breakfast, visting with Marisa in the afternoon, and Wicked that night.

Sunday was church ( which is always hysterical when we're all together with the boys,)
BBQ, and Amanda's peach pie with friends.

Monday: Tara and her friends Beach Day ( observed by many employers...)
Santa Cruz had perfect weather and our usual Zoccoli's sandwich and Marianne's ice cream were perfect as well.
We made it home in time for Coldplay at Shoreline.

It was pretty awesome to have the group come up into the lawn section to sing a few songs. I wish our pictures were better, but you get the point.

Awesome.

Fourth of July

I am having a fabulous Fourth of July. While I type this up, I am watching celebrations on television (which I really love.) It was a fun filled day. First, Mom,Dad, and I went to Nevada City for a growers market. (We really loved the nectarines and peaches, as you can see in the photograph.)

The Nevada County Parade was hosted by Grass Valley this year.
I have to say how much I enjoyed sitting on the curb of Main Street, watching the veterans, firetrucks, classic cars, jr high bands, rodeo horses, gymnastic groups, old military vehicles, food co-op groups, and the Ophir prison marching band pass.

Some things never change.... Scouts selling cold drinks.
Dad let these boys know what troup started it all years ago. I am sure that they appreciated it :)

At Dad's behest, we had a picnic of pasties at the Northstar Mine park.

Our evening was spent with old time good friends. (Really, a sweet woman introduced me to her daughter-in-law by telling my birth weight and premature birth story.) I loved celebrating in my hometown with Mom and Dad.
It was a really great day.
(Thanks to my iphone, I could document today. I forgot my real camera.)
